We are pleased to announce that our Partner, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, has been conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Nigerian Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee. He was sworn-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria at the Supreme Court, Abuja on 21st September 2015.

Adeniyi Adegbonmire is a Partner in the dispute resolution practice of Aluko & Oyebode. His areas of specialisation include commercial litigation and arbitration, corporate and commercial practice, banking, corporate recovery/insolvency and company/partnership disputes. He advises on all aspects of Nigerian litigation practice and procedure.

He is an experienced barrister and has represented a wide range of clients including multi-national corporations, banks, and other financial institutions. He has also represented a number of individuals in criminal litigation in the State High Courts, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. He recently concluded two criminal pro-bono appeals in which he was able to secure the quashing of two death penalty sentences.

Adeniyi heads the firm’s real estate practice and has advised various clients on commercial lettings, compulsory purchases, property acquisition and investment, development finance, leases, investment sales and purchases, joint ventures, re-developments, secured lending, mortgages and other commercial property transactions.

In Chambers Global 2013, he received high praise for the pragmatism of his approach. “His strength lies in plotting a good strategy,” said one source, adding: “He’s interested in finding a good commercial resolution to the matter.”
