Telecommunications

Aluko & Oyebode experienced in the telecommunication sector is unrivalled and remains so. The firm since the deregulation of the sector has advised both participants as well as the regulatory body for the sector. We actively participated in the development of the new Telecommunications policy in 1999 by the Federal Government of Nigeria. We advised one of the successful and now the biggest provider licensees in Sub-Saharan Africa of GSM at the auction of GSM licences and continue to represent its interests. Our firm also advised some operators at the fixed wireless access auctions.

As we have maintained our relationship with the regulatory agency and we are abreast of regulatory changes and developments, we participate in request by the regulatory agency for input on proposed changes from time to time and are therefore able to advice our clients to make sure they are able to adapt to the changes in the market and make the right decisions regarding their operations by offering top quality legal services.

We provide legal advice on regulatory, intellectual property, interconnection, corporate and licensing issues. We also assist our clients by liaising with the relevant regulatory bodies and government organisations and procuring the necessary permits and authorisations. We aim to provide comprehensive services to our TMT clients by rendering all-encompassing legal services according to their individual needs.
