Oritsemone Awala-Velly


Oritsemone is passionate about infrastructure projects that form the backbone of a nation’s development, such as a solar power project to bring electricity to new communities or the financing of a light rail project to move people and cargo more efficiently.


Oritsemone advises on various transactions including project finance, syndicated and term lending, real estate finance and debt restructurings. He also has experience in advising project developers and lenders on oil, gas and power projects. He has advised private equity firms and multinationals on private equity deals, mergers and acquisitions, as well as foreign investment in Nigeria. Oritsemone advised on the refinancing of a US$750 million facility granted to an indigenous oil company for the acquisition of interests in an oil mining lease. He has also been involved in projects for the development of renewable and gas power plants and transactions for the funding of oil and gas projects.
