Shehu Mustafa

Because there are a range of factors that can impact the direction a dispute may take, Shehu likes to ensure that the aspects that are within his control are actively managed and the information flow is constant. He provides customised support in managing disputes to ensure that the client's interests are protected and adverse effects are minimised.

Shehu was recently part of the team that represented an oil major in a commercial arbitration and defeated a US$248 million claim. It was a significant win for the client and a memorable professional accomplishment for the team. In addition to the complex issues of contractual interpretation, allegations of bias and case presentation, the client faced political and commercial pressure, which required legal strategy and expertise, as well as careful management of communication and public perception.
