PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Smart is a member of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution, Fintech, International Trade and Transportation Practice teams. He regularly represents and advises clients on various aspects of law including Environmental Law, Energy, Labour and Employment, Taxation, Regulatory Compliance, Fintech and International Trade. Smart graduated top 5% of his class with Honours from the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt and bagged a First Class Honours at the Nigerian Law School.

Since joining Aluko & Oyebode, Smart has worked alongside other members of the team on a wide range of transactions.  He has experience in advising on matters ranging from Labour and employment issues, energy disputes and litigation, arbitration, trade disputes, taxation, corporate and commercial advisory. He has a keen interest in International Economic Law particularly the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) and its dispute settlement process.
