The Partners of Aluko & Oyebode are pleased to announce the admission of Imaobong Haastrup into the Firm’s Partnership.
Prior to this elevation, Imaobong was a Managing Associate in the Firm’s Dispute Resolution Practice. She joined Aluko & Oyebode in 2011 and specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration with a focus on Oil & Gas and Finance (Banking, Insurance, and Capital Markets).
She has extensive experience representing local and international clients in all aspects of dispute resolution including litigation at the Supreme Court and arbitral proceedings before the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC.
She also regularly renders advice on a wide range of commercial transactions and has in recent years been involved in the resolution of very high-profile disputes arising from Nigeria’s petroleum industry. Imaobong is recognised by peers and by clients as a trusted advisor in their most complex challenges. She was a core member of Aluko & Oyebode’s team that successfully represented Equinor Nigeria Energy Company Ltd (formerly Statoil Nigeria Ltd) at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in the landmark appeal decided this year, which overturned an award earlier made by the Federal High Court. The Supreme Court entered judgment in favour of Equinor Nigeria Energy Company Ltd.
She is an alumnus of the University of Calabar.
Reginald Udom, Aluko & Oyebode’s Managing Partner said: “We congratulate Imaobong for achieving this significant career milestone. As the firm continues to expand its capabilities in several practice areas, Imaobong’s admission further strengthens the services we can offer our Oil & Gas and Finance clients across the firm. She brings on board a depth of established experience in litigation, arbitration, and more.”
