Aluko & Oyebode
Aluko & Oyebode has advised AXA, a global insurance and asset management group, in connection with its successful acquisition of 100% of Assur Africa Holdings which hold a 77% equity stake in Mansard Insurance Plc (“Mansard”) from Africinvest, DEG, ADP, FMO and Proparco for €198 Million (US$246 Million).
Mansard is a leading Nigerian insurance company, with a listing on The Nigerian Stock Exchange. Magic circle law firm Linklaters LLP acted as offshore solicitors to AXA.
Following the acquisition, AXA would strengthen its presence in Africa and become the fourth largest insurance player in Nigeria.
