The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States.
Nta Ekpiken, an associate in the Intellectual property department of Aluko & Oyebode was selected to participate in the International Visitor Leadership (IVLP) Program: MRP Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, in recognition of the Firm’s contribution through the work of the Anti-Counterfeiting Collaboration, (ACC), and Nigeria.
The program was attended by representatives chosen from different Countries of the World and the group was educated on the Protection of Intellectual Property rights in the United States. The group visited Washington D.C, Atlanta, Georgia and San Diego and attended a seminar at the United States Patent Office (USPTO), Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), US Congressional International Anti-piracy Caucus, US Department of Justice, Computer Crime & Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS), US Department of State, Bureau of Affairs, Office of International Intellectual Property Enforcement (IPE) amongst others activities during the two weeks program.
